St Mary's Clinic
Thanks to generous donations and the hard work of the village, the Kapyera clinic is complete. The village chose the name St. Mary. Babies are born and patients are serviced by a nurse provided by the government of Zambia.

Everyone contributes

*May 2012 found us in Kapyera, a small village in Zambia, opening the newly dug well and laying the first bricks for a clinic which will provide health services to over 20 villages/5000 people. The maternal wing will provide assisted births to combat a 50% infant mortality rate. Every villager contributes by digging the foundation and making the bricks by hand. There are no bulldozers, bobcats to dig, or cement trucks to mix large amounts of cement. Everyone, even the children, work for the good of the community.
The Friends of Chipata collaborates with the people of Zambia in creating sustainable initiatives involving healthcare, education and religious vocations.
